In private practice since 1992, Robert D. Holland, Jr., DMD received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Francis Marion University in 1985. He earned, with honors, his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1989 at the Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Holland continued on with his studies and training to complete graduate school in the specialty of Prosthodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas in 1992.
As an accredited Prosthodontist with over fifteen years of clinical experience, Dr Holland provides patients with a full range of general dentistry and specialized dental treatments. Every Prosthodontist is a dentist but only 3% of dentists are prosthodontists. As a prosthodontist, he specializes in the restoration and replacement of teeth and related structures. He is also responsible for the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of patients with complex clinical conditions using bio-compatible substitutes, including implants, to replace missing or deficient teeth.
Dr. Holland is a member of many prestigious organizations and study clubs.
Dr. Holland and his wife Theresa live in the Columbia area and have two sons, Robbie and Max. An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Holland enjoys hunting and fishing, while Theresa and Robbie are tennis enthusiasts. Max shares his father's passion for basketball. Dr. Holland actually received a basketball scholarship to attend Francis Marion University.
